Sugar Skull by Juvialle Sugar Skull by Juvialle
Hello! o 7o

This is a quick drawing of the lovely adopt that I got from =Cybiline, though I made her color scheme an analogous warm. I hope you do not mind! o vo; I do not know what to name her yet, so for now, I am going with "Sugar Skull." Though I will have to play with the markings. As a person who celebrate Dia de los Muertos, I know how fun it is to fiddle with the shapes on the sugar skulls! > v<

This is also how I will be doing flat colors for now on. *Lacryel taught me a few things in SAI that I think I am going to love playing with. o 7o

Original Design belongs to =Cybiline
My Little Pony belongs to Hasbro
Art is mine, as always! o 7o

Wow. How stunning is this! Such elegant lineart and subtle use of colour, I love your reference to el dia de los muertos, the spirit of that festival really shows! ;)

Thank you very much! o 7o
That really means a lot since the Day of the Dead means a lot of me and my family. We like the message behind that much more than the message behind Halloween, though they are actually pretty similar in certain places. So we pass out handmade treats on Halloween while our living room is littered with out celebratory Day of the Dead decorations! I color a lot of the sugar skulls so I have a lot of fun with designs like hers. > v<
Sorry for talking your ear off ahhhh ; v;

Thats really interesting, I love how the festival has such happy connotations although in places like England it would be thought of being quite grave, and yes, I think I did hear that in some countries its a holiday preferred to Halloween :)

Well, I live in America and I am Caucasian, so it's actually pretty strange for me to celebrate the Day of the Dead, it seems. But we like the idea of dedicating a solid 24 hours to the memory of our passed loved ones. I am all about remembering where I come from and not losing my roots, and the holiday kind of reminds me of them. I guess people could see it as kind of grave, but it is closer to simply visiting a grave and placing things that the lost would like onto it. Personally I think it is very sweet. > v<

it's so pretty! and changing her colors a little is okay, as long as you still credit me with the original design!

thanks again for buying her!
